Sondo

Terms of Service

Last updated 23 August 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Mahdi Farra, who operates Sondo. By creating an account or using Sondo you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use Sondo. Questions go to [email protected], which is a real address read by a real person.

What Sondo is

Sondo is a chat widget you embed on your own website. It answers your visitors from content you provide, holds a conversation, and collects an email address when a visitor offers one. You add your own OpenRouter API key and choose which AI model answers. Sondo does not resell AI usage: those requests run on your OpenRouter account, under your agreement with OpenRouter, and they are billed to you by them.

Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping access to your email secure, because a sign-in link sent to that address is enough to sign in. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has access to it.

Your content

The content you add to your Knowledge Base stays yours. You give Sondo permission to store, process and send it to your chosen AI model, which is what makes the product work at all. You confirm you have the right to use the content you upload, and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.

You are responsible for what your widget says to your visitors. Sondo grounds answers in the content you provide, but AI models can still be wrong, incomplete, or confidently mistaken. Do not use Sondo as the only source of advice where being wrong causes real harm, such as medical, legal or financial advice.

Fair use

Conversations are unlimited on every plan, and there is no counter anywhere in the product. Unlimited means we do not meter normal use. It does not cover:

  • automated traffic, load testing, or scripted conversations that are not real visitors;
  • reselling access to Sondo, or putting one workspace in front of many unrelated sites;
  • using the widget to extract bulk output from the AI model rather than to answer visitors;
  • anything unlawful, abusive, or aimed at breaking the service for other customers.

If usage looks like one of those, we may rate-limit or suspend the workspace. Except where the problem is urgent or unlawful, we will email you first and give you a chance to fix it.

Payment

Subscriptions are paid in advance, in US dollars, through Stripe. Tax is added at checkout where it applies. A subscription renews automatically for the same period until you cancel it, and you can cancel at any time from your account. Cancelling stops the next charge; it does not refund the period you are in, except under the guarantee below.

If a payment fails, Stripe retries it for a while and your workspace keeps working during that time. If it ultimately fails, or you cancel, your widget stops answering visitors at the end of the paid period. Your workspace, your Knowledge Base and your conversation history are kept, and they come back when you subscribe again.

30-day money-back guarantee

If Sondo is not right for you, email [email protected] within 30 days of your first charge and we will refund that payment in full and cancel the subscription. No questions asked, no reason needed. The guarantee covers the first payment only, and there is one guarantee per customer.

Availability and changes

Sondo is a small operation and does not promise a particular uptime. We may change, add, or remove features, and we may change these terms or the prices. When a change matters to you, we will say so by email or on this page before it takes effect, and the date at the top always shows when this page last changed. Continuing to use Sondo after a change means you accept it.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using Sondo at any time by cancelling your subscription. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is used unlawfully, or whose payments have failed. If we close your account for a reason other than abuse, we will tell you first so you can export what you need.

Liability

Sondo is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, Mahdi Farra is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits or revenue, or for anything a visitor does because of an answer the widget gave. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for Sondo in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Your data

What Sondo stores, why, and who else processes it are set out on the Privacy page, which is part of this agreement. Sondo stores the conversations your widget has, because showing them to you in the inbox is a feature of the product.

Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California, in the United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
